Summary of the week ending Friday, 2020-04-17

Now that COVID-19 Open Data is progressively making its way to the LOD Cloud Knowledge Graph in Linked Data form, with connectivity and access using SPARQL over HTTP already established, it is important that we also extend this capability beyond HTTP to other data access protocols such as ODBC and JDBC.

A new post, titled “ODBC and JDBC Access to COVID-19 Cloud Knowledge Graph”, provides a complete guide to using ODBC & JDBC compliant apps and services (e.g., Dashboards, Business Intelligence Tools, and Data Science Notebooks etc) for transparent access to the LOD Cloud Knowledge Graph via our URIBurner Service using our Free 90 Day Virtuoso ODBC & JDBC Driver License Offer.

• Example of COVID-19 data published in Open Data form which simplifies progressive LOD Cloud Knowledge Graph updates. In a nutshell, this is how the FORCE of a Data Network will help us collectively vanquish the effects of the SARS_COV_2 virus.

• Can I exploit Relative HTTP URI power when creating RDF sentences using JSONLD for deployment using Linked Data principles? Yes! This capability is now part of JSON-LD 1.1. You can take notes locally and deploy globally!

• I don’t have to hardwire an origin (e.g., example dot com) when taking my notes in RDF i.e., I can just create Linked Data on my local drive and publish later without predefining domains or namespaces! File Create (RDF Turtle or JSONLD), Save (Locally), and Publish to the Web.

• Here are two simple Linked Data deployment tutorials that teach the same RDF concepts using different notations.
