Manual update of Virtuoso 8.3 Windows ODBC Driver to version with Statically linked OpenSSL Library

The current Virtuoso 8.3 ODBC Drivers for Windows, available for download and installation from our download site, are dynamically linked against OpenSSL on Windows. Unfortunately, this introduces a problem when using Virtuoso’s SQL-TLS protocol (e.g., with our recently updated LOD Connectivity Drivers) that manifests in a popup dialog with the message “OpenSSL code incorrectly linked”.

To alleviate this inconvenience, we have rebuilt the Virtuoso 8.3 Windows ODBC Drivers relinked statically using a stable and compatible OpenSSL Library for Windows.

You can download these replacement Drivers from:

ODBC Driver Manual Replacement Process

  • Make a backup of your current virtodbc.dll in the bin directory of your Virtuoso installation
  • Copy over the new virtodbc.dll file to bin directory of your Virtuoso installation

Note:
File replacements need to correspond with the 64 or 32 bit virtodbc.dll file in the zip archives referenced above.
