HowTo Silently run OpenLink Windows MSI installers
Windows MSI installers can always perform a slient installation with no user interaction to install a product in its default directory, register services etc, which is a feature built into the msiexec program that runs MSI installers as detailed in this msiexec silent install document.
For example to install the OpenLink Multi-Tier Generic ODBC Driver installer (wao3zzzz.msi) silently the following can be run from a command line prompt:
msiexec /i wao3zzzz.msi /qn
The Windows App & features control program can then be checked to confirm the application has been installed:
And in the case of an ODBC Driver silent installation, as in this example, the ODBC Administrator Drivers tab can be checked to confirm the ODBC Driver has been installed:
