How do I bind a Virtuoso server instance to a specific hostname only?

You do so by performing the following steps:

  1. Open up the Virtuoso Configuration (a/k/a INI) file or go to the Conductor’s “Server Admin” interface
  2. Go to the HTTP or Parameters section, depending on if you are configuring access via HTTP, SQL, or both
  3. Locate the ServerPort entry and set its value to your desired hostname:portno combo (rather than just the portno which is the default that binds to any IP or hostname)
  4. Save the update configuration entries
  5. Restart the Virtuoso server and confirm the desired changes have taken effect
